FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


 - I'm very unfit. Can I still do ZUMBA?
Absolutely. ZUMBA helps you improve your fitness levels. We advise you to start at a pace you are comfortable with. Start with only 1 or 2 classes per week. Too much too soon can put you off.


- What do I need to bring to the class?
Comfortable training clothes, trainers and plenty of water because you will need it! (There are small drinking breaks between the songs).
Also if you have purchased a pass online previously, please have your receipt ready. (You can also show it to the instructor on your phone, no need to print it out).


- I can't dance, is ZUMBA for me?
Yes. Zumba is for everybody who wants to have a fun workout while sweating, lose a few pounds, or just switch off after a hard day at work.


- Is Zumba hard?
No, it is not. Zumba is intended to be simple, easy-to-follow dance-based exercise, but not a dance class. Therefore you don't need to be a dancer to enjoy the class. True, some people naturally pick up the moves faster than others, but since it is based on repetition, most people get the hang of it after 3-4 classes.


- I have health problems, can I still do ZUMBA?
We would advise you to consult with your GP first, but the great thing about ZUMBA is that you can do it at the pace you feel comfortable with.


- I have two left feet, would I still enjoy the class?
Absolutely. ZUMBA doesn't require you to be a dancer. The steps are easy to follow, and you will feel more and more confident after every class. That's why we usually advise people to commit to 3-4 classes at least, to experience the positive changes. 


- Is Zumba good for losing weight?
Yes. Zumba fitness is a dance-based cardio exercise that helps you burn calories. We have countless success stories from our customers saying how they lost those extra pounds attending our classes. (While they were having fun, of course).
According to MyFitnessPal, Zumba fitness is amongst the most effective workouts when it comes to burning calories and therefore losing weight.


- How many calories can you burn in Zumba?
It depends on many factors, but mainly on how intensively you are doing the class. There is no pressure in Zumba, so you decide how hard you want to go.
According to MyFitnessPal, with a 45 minutes Zumba class, you can burn anywhere between 350-600 calories.


- Is it only for women?
The vast majority of our students are ladies. However, we do have some gentlemen as well, so ZUMBA is for everybody!


- I am over 60. Can I still do Zumba?
Without a doubt. We have students from age 16 to age 80. The good thing about it is that you can do it at your own pace so you can do as much as your body can handle.


- I am under 18. Can I still attend your classes?
Yes. If you attend with an adult, you can just come along. If you attend on your own, please bring a parental consent form filled and signed. We can send you the form in an email. Please write to lily@danceandhealth.com


- I am pregnant, can I still do ZUMBA?
We recommend that you consult with your GP regarding this matter. We do have pregnant moms who attend our classes while others prefer to take a break during pregnancy.


- How early should I arrive at the class?
Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the class to have time for the registration with the instructor. 
If it's your first time, then allow yourself extra time to find the location, park the car, etc.


- Do you have free parking at the locations?
Some of them would have parking facilities, others not. Here is the full list:

Carmelite Community Centre - no free parking. On-street parking, or Whitefriar street car park, both payable. On-street parking is free after 7 pm, so it cost you less than the car park; however, you would need to walk more. The car park is behind the centre. 

Scoil Chaitriona Baggot Street - plenty of free parking on the school grounds. Please do not use the designated parking marked with white lines in the front of the yard, they are for the residents who live there. 

Archbishop Byrne Hall - no free parking, on-street parking only.

Gloucester Street Sports Centre - no free parking, on-street parking only. Prince's street is only payable till 18:30, so you save some money parking there (always check the signage, they might change).

St Vincent de Paul Girls School Marino - plenty of free parking on the school grounds. On-street parking also free after 18:00.

Belgrove Senior Boys School Clontarf - free on-street parking around the school (it is free in the evening, but please always check the signage)

Glasnevin Parish (Our Lady of Dolours church hall) - limited free parking spaces on the church grounds. Only limited because it is a small car park. Extra spaces are available on the streets around the church.

St Mary's College Rathmines - plenty of free parking on the school grounds

Terenure College - plenty of free parking on the school grounds

Our Lady's Boys National School Ballinteer - plenty of free parking on the school grounds

Dominican Convent Primary School Dun Laoghaire - no free parking, but on-street parking is free after 7 pm - which means you only need to pay a few cents when arriving at the class.


If you drive, we advise you to download the ParkingTag app. It saves you time and keeps you sane ;) Never again worry about having a change in your pocket, and whether you have enough. It's a time-saver app and it keeps you sane too :)


- I can't register on the site
HERE is a great post explaining what you need to do.

- What if I don't like the class? Do you have a refund policy?
Yes. If you purchase a pass without trying it first, and within 24 hours of attending your first class you send us an e-mail to lily@danceandhealth.com requesting a refund, we will do it straight away.


- I have seen a great offer on the website, but I can't start the classes now. Can I buy it now, and start later?
Absolutely!
Our unlimited pass starts from the date you attend your first class. For example, if you purchase a 2-month unlimited pass in January, but you start it only on the 11th of March, it will be valid from 11th of March to the 11th of May.
Our Flexi pass options also start on the day of your first attendance.


- I have purchased an offer from the website. What do I need to do?
You need to book your classes in advance.
To book your classes, go to this page:

IMPORTANT: ALL CLASSES MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE.
Since we never charge you or deduct a class from you if you book a class but don't show up, so we recommend you to book all the classes you think you will attend.



- I have bought a pass online, but when I log into the booking system, the classes are not on my account.
If this is the case, please contact us and we will sort it out immediately.

- Are you able to give receipts of payments?
Yes. If you purchase your pass online, you will automatically receive a copy of your receipt to your inbox. If you request an invoice for your online or offline purchase, please send us an email to viktor@danceandhealth.com and we will be happy to email you an invoice.

- What happens to my pass during the Christmas break?
If you have a 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months or 8 months pass, then the 3 weeks break will be added to the expiry date, so you don't lose anything!
If you bought a 12 months pass, then the break has been already reflected in the price (you could see that your pass' price was broken down into price/week when you bought it, where we counted 49 weeks for the 12 months - instead of 52)

- Can I freeze my membership?

As you know, the Flexi passes have no expiry date, you attend the classes when you want, so any break you might take does not affect them.
What about the Unlimited Passes?
Unfortunately, the Unlimited Passes cannot be paused. They are priced at a much better value than the punch card, taking into account unforeseen circumstances. The price per class with an unlimited pass can be as low as €2-3 if you attend regularly. However, if you are afraid that something might come up while your pass is still valid, we suggest that you buy a Flexi-pass instead, as they have no expiry date at all.
